How to fix windows fog

The double- panel are common in homes and offices because of its improved insulation. These operate by two glass sheets separated by half inch (1.27 cm) spacing approximately using trapped air as additional insulation. If the label in any of the glass panels fail, the mist can accumulate between windows caused by the humid air. Although normal fog moisture can be removed from the surface, removing this in windows requires some additional work.

You will need

  • Glass Cleaner
  • Newsprint
  • Knife
  • Silicone caulking windows
  • Silica spacer bars

Instructions

  1. Clean the outer surface of the glass windows to make sure the problem is not simply a fog on the surface due to moisture. Sprinkle a light layer of glass cleaner on the outside glass panels and uses some old to work the mixture through these newspaper. Avoid using rags or paper towels as they may scratch the glass. Replace the paper often to keep it wet too with glass cleaner and can cause scratches to the surface.
  2. Remove the panel glass insulation yourself. Cut with knife and spatula, seal or varnish around the edge of the panel glass exterior, known as the panel insulation, starting at the bottom and going up while you work. Repeat the process on all panels of glass. Remove them from the guillotine them out carefully and clean all sides of the two sheets of glass with a window cleaner and newspaper. Reinstall the panel glass and reseal the glass in place using silicone caulking windows.
  3. Replaces silica spacer bars separating the two windows of each other. Eventually, the silica absorbs moisture and is saturated so that it no longer works, at the time needs to be replaced. Check silica slats by removing the panel glass insulation on the outside of the window, and replace them if necessary. The average space bar lasts for five years.
